Guaratinguetá, Brazil · 1950 · Health · Standing
Despite retaining much of its original use, the ensemble has been heavily altered over time. The paint, the signs, the equipment, the small additions — each change may seem insignificant on its own. Of course, preservation is not about freezing architecture in time. Buildings need to remain alive, adapt and continue to be used. But if we lose sight of the details, we might eventually lose the architecture itself — even when its original function survives.
